In April a series of songwriting workshops were conducted at the Bourke High School music rooms. The workshops were facilitated be award winning artist, Tonchi McIntosh and covered a wide range of musical styles as well as a cross section of students, and were directed toward the issues of river health and stormwater.

Students were asked to contribute lyric ideas, these were workshopped into songs and then participants got to select rhythms and melodies from the computer and develop their songs.

The stormwater education songwriting workshops were not only a success in the delivery of information and the measured improvement in awareness of the target issues, also the music produced has made a great awareness tool with the cd being sold at the school and played on local radio.
